SIKESTON - The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a contract during its regular meeting on April 3 to replace the Route 91 bridge over Drainage Ditch 2 located near Morley in Scott County. The $474,708 contract was awarded to Chester Bross Const. Co./C.B. Equipment Inc., Hannibal, Mo.
The project includes replacing the bridge. Weather permitting, construction is expected to start in May 2012, with completion anticipated in summer 2012.
As work is underway, the roadway will remain closed. By closing the road, MoDOT is able to save money for other needed improvements.
Signs and warning devices will be in place as work is underway. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution when traveling near the area and plan for possible delays. MoDOT will alert drivers prior to any changes in traffic.
