Commission Awards Contract for Improvements in Iron County

SIKESTON - The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a contract today for improvements to Route 49 in Iron County. The $78,415 contract was awarded to CE Contracting, Inc., Ste. Genevieve, Mo.  

The project will complete improvements to the sidewalks on Route 49 in Viburnum to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Weather permitting, the work could begin as early as Monday, Oct. 17, with completion anticipated by mid-December.

Work zones will be marked with signs as the improvements are being made. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area. MoDOT will alert drivers prior to any change in traffic.
