Willow Springs, Mo. -The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has announced work on the Route 185 bridge over the Indian Creek in Washington County is now expected to start May 26. 

Construction on the bridge was set to start on May 18, but has been delayed until May 26. According to MoDOT South Central District Safe & Sound Coordinator Ed Hess the bridge will be temporarily closed for construction, allowing crews to replace the bridge deck. "Once the bridge closes, the contract states work must be complete and the bridge reopened within 60 days," Hess said.

Changeable message boards will be placed near the bridge to remind motorists of the pending closure. Safe & Sound signage has been added to the bridges scheduled to be rehabilitated under the Safe & Sound program within the next five years.
