Missouri
has no state environmental protection law. However, enforcement
of certain federal laws have been assumed by state agencies
such as the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. MoDOT
cooperates with other agencies, such as the Missouri Department
of Conservation and the State Emergency Management Agency
during project development activities. MoDOT's environmental
procedures during the location and design phases of project
development are detailed in the department's Policy,
Procedure and Design Manual at Chapter 2-04.
