When winter weather hits, the Missouri Department of Transportation's snow-removal crews are ready for action!
MoDOT has more than 3,000 MoDOT employees and 1,500 pieces of equipment ready to fight winter storms on the state's 32,000-mile highway system. If necessary, MoDOT hires emergency equipment operators to help during snow and ice storms and moves staff to the areas most affected by winter weather.
Our crews will focus on getting roads treated or plowed as soon as possible. And while we adjust our efforts to deal with each storm's unique characteristics, you can be sure that when the snow is flying, MoDOT crews will be out in force.
Motorists should also do their part by slowing down and driving for winter weather conditions. MoDOT offers these tools to help you stay informed: |
