MoDOT's Planning and Policy Group

Planning and Policy maintains 20-year long-range transportation plan. This plan analyzes needs for all modes of transportation and provides policy and goal direction for MoDOT as it develops the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program.

This team provides expertise for rural and urban transportation planning activities, reviews proposed state and federal legislation to determine impacts on transportation, maintains the planning framework’s processes, acts as planning liaisons to MoDOT districts, metropolitan planning organizations and regional planning commissions, serves on statewide, regional and nationwide studies, and develops policies for transportation planning.

Statewide Transportation Improvement Plan

The STIP is MoDOT five year outlook on construction across the state. Many factors contribute to it's content and often the plan must be adjusted to meet the changing demands of a region or muncipality.
