Judging

Judging process

  • All entries are judged by a jury of your peers from the state that won the previous year in the category you are entering.
  • There will be only one winner in each category.
  • No ties are allowed.
  • It is important to remember that the NTPAW Skills Contest is a public relations competition. As such, it is the public relations aspect of the entry that will receive the greatest scrutiny by the judges. To this end, the judges first read and evaluate the entry form, which defines the:
    • Situation, goals and objectives of the public relations activity;
      Target audience; and
      Measurable results.
  • The judges then review the support materials, focusing their attention on the five evaluative criteria.
  • The score for each criterion is between 0-10.
  • The combined maximum score is 50.
  • The judges are required to provide comments on each entry in the form of constructive feedback.
  • The judges’ forms are to be faxed to the Awards Committee chair at 304-558-9131.
  • After the awards ceremony, the judges’ forms will be returned to the entrant.
