Pictures and videos of progress      MoDOT has committed to upgrade to four lanes by the end of 2009.  The project is divided into 3 sections: Hannibal to Monroe City Project 83% complete; Contractor working on concrete paving, and bridge construction 11 1/2 miles of road September 2008 completion New westbound lanes to the north side Progressive Contractors, Inc., St. Michael, MN Award Cost $17,454,758.14 Upon completion, the east exit to Monroe City will be closed See Northeast District Homepage for roadwork, lane closures and traveler information Monroe City to Shelbina Project 15% - Weather permitting, crews will be grading, working on ditches and silt removal at various locations; five box culvert crews will be active when weather and ground conditions permit; North Fork Salt River Bridge-79% complete-Crews will continue forming and placing steel for deck; bridge crew working 4-10 hour days Monday, May 12, begin installing box culverts under the east and westbound lanes of Route 36 just east of Shelbina; traffic reduced to one lane in the work zone with temporary signals controlling traffic on Route 36 with a 12-foot width restriction 24 hours a day until the project is complete in 6 to 8 weeks. November 2009 completion Monroe City to Hunnewell – New westbound lanes; Salt River Bridge on south side of existing bridge, then we will switch traffic to south side Progressive Contractors, Inc., St. Michael, MN Award Cost $22,847,487.81 Shelbina to Macon Project 2% complete - Installing drainage structures, clearing and grubbing at various locations.  Construction of the substructure of two bridges over Middle Fork of Salt River and over Route FF near South Shelby High School. 22.5 miles of roadway December 2009 completion Four new lanes will be built around the Hodgin Heights subdivision at Clarence The bridge on Route 151 over Route 36 at Clarence will also be replaced during construction of the project The "Cardinal Connector" was specially designed to allow safe access to and from S. Shelby High School at Route FF.
