The $34 million project is a culmination of efforts from both federal and state organizations, as well as the Highway 19 Missouri River BridgeTransportation Corporation.

The official dedication ceremony was held on Friday, October 12, 2007.  A 10-minute video, titled "The Bridges Into Hermann," is online, documenting the construction of the original bridge, the groundbreaking for the new bridge, and the official dedication of the new bridge.

The demolition of the old Missouri River Bridge has been completed.  The old bridge was replaced by the Senator Christopher S. Bond Bridge, which was built just west of the old structure and the dedication ceremony was held on October 12.
