HANNIBAL - Area residents are invited to learn more about the upcoming improvements on MO 47 at Hopewell Hill south of Warrenton at an open-house-style informational meeting Tuesday, April 15 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Warrenton Fire Protection District located at 26625 South State Highway 47 in Warrenton. MoDOT will have representatives available at the meeting for one on one questions."With an average of almost 3000 vehicles a day, we encourage anyone who drives this part of MO 47 to attend," said MoDOT Area Engineer Erik Maninga. The improvements include realigning the road and softening the curves, and new guard rail will be installed where needed. The project was awarded to H. R. Quadri Contractors, LLC of Van Buren, MO at a cost of $2,345,551.03.In final stages of the project this summer, it will necessary to close the road for up to 18 days beginning around July 29 to connect the new section of the road to the existing highway.
