MACON - Herb Lovelace retired from the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) effective April 1, 2014. Herb had 28 years of service with MoDOT at the time of his retirement.Herb began his career with MoDOT in June 1986 as a crew worker at the Palmyra maintenance facility. Herb would spend his entire tenure with the organization at the Palmyra facility. He would receive several promotions and would become a senior maintenance worker. After retirement, Herb is looking forward to helping a friend with some farming. "I am sure that my wife will have some honey-do jobs lined up for me as well," he said with a smile.Herb and his wife Tammy currently reside in Palmyra, Missouri. He has two children: Corey Lovelace, and his wife Jessica, of Hannibal, MO, and Ashley Gottman, and her husband Andrew, of Palmyra, MO. Herb is also going to be blessed with his first grandchild this August, and he just found out its going to be a boy!
