MACON - Larry Cornelius retired from the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) effective April 1, 2014. Larry had 25 years of service with MoDOT at the time of his retirement.
Larry began his career with MoDOT in June 1989 as a part-time materials technician. He would begin full-time in November 1990 in the materials department and would become a materials inspector. In April 2008, Larry transferred to maintenance and would work as a senior maintenance worker in the sign shop, but would then move to the Center maintenance facility in November 2011.
After retirement, Larry and his brother will be taking over the family fertilizer business. "I am very excited about this opportunity and helping this business grow for my family," he said.
Larry currently resides outside New London, Missouri. He has two children: Crystal Brown, and her husband Marshal, of Hannibal, MO, and Corey Cornelius of New London, MO. He also has been blessed with 2 grandchildren.
