Road to be closed at the Bridge on Route WW in Pike County

HANNIBAL - Weather permitting, on Monday, June 6, Route WW east of Clopton School near Paynesville, will close to traffic to rehabilitate the bridge at Mud Creek. The bridge rehabilitation should take approximately 70 working days, based upon the current schedule, reopening to traffic in early August.

Alternate routes of travel should be taken over Routes W, H and D. Some areas of the roadway will remain open to residential traffic only. Several notices will be posted through media, schools, email and message boards alerting the public of the closure.

The 52-year-old bridge is one of seven bridges to be worked on this year in Pike County. Currently, the Little Ramsey Creek Bridge on Route H is under construction and tentatively scheduled to open to traffic on or before June 2. Route W south of Paynesville at Guins Creek also begins on June 6. Other bridge replacements in Pike County include Route AC north of Middletown at Sandy Creek and Route V east of Vandalia at Indian Creek scheduled for July and August.

MoDOT's web pages found at www.modot.org/northeast under Safe & Sound are easy to navigate and provide details on the bridges to be rehabilitated or replaced this year. Those traveling and commuting public are encouraged to check the online map at www.modot.org daily for new work zones.  MoDOT also offers e-update messages sent directly to your email when roadwork is scheduled.  Sign up online or call MoDOT's customer service center at 1-888-275-6636.
