South Fabius River Bridge on Route J Open to Traffic in Knox County

HANNIBAL - Tuesday evening, May 17, the bridge on Route J over the South Fabius River north of Hurdland opened to traffic after being closed for replacement on March 28.

Currently under construction is the Route 156 Bridge over South Fabius River, just west of Newark which should reopen in late June. Other bridge replacements in Knox County include the Troublesome Creek Bridge on Route E south of Knox City which is scheduled to close in June and the South Fabius River Bridge on Route E south of Newark and the Middle Fabius River Bridge on Route M south of Rutledge in 2012.

"We appreciate everyone's patience as we work to make these improvements," Rodenbaugh added.  He said all bridge work, as well as other road work in the area, are listed online at modot.org/northeast.
