This is a survey performed by the Missouri Safety Center annually at selected high schools across the state. We have included the schools surveyed in NE Missouri (below):
After reading your school's information, consider another sobering statistic...in any person's lifetime, there is a 100% chance of being involved in a car crash.
Increase your teen's chance of surviving a car crash...not only is it the law, but it's the safest thing to do every time. (And it doesn't hurt to set a good example!)
Troy Buchanan High School
Of the 1500 students at Troy Buchanan High School, 66% are wearing a seat belt. This means 34% of them are not.
Think about it in this way....510 students are not buckling up, and the trend shows that 70% of the people killed in Missouri were NOT buckled in. So...there's a chance that 357 of these students, if involved in a car crash, would not survive.
Hannibal High School
Of the 1100 students at Hannibal High School, 57% are wearing a seat belt. This means 43% of them are not.
Think about it in this way....473 students are not buckling up, and the trend shows that 70% of the people killed in Missouri were NOT buckled in. So...there's a chance that 331 of these students, if involved in a car crash, would not survive.
Warren County R-3
Of the 900 students at Warrenton High School, 73% are wearing a seat belt. This means 27% of them are not.
Think about it in this way....243 students are not buckling up, and the trend shows that 70% of the people killed in Missouri were NOT buckled in. So...there's a chance that 170 of these students, if involved in a car crash, would not survive.
Mexico High School
Of the 785 students at Mexico High School, 51% are wearing a seat belt. This means 49% of them are not.
Think about it in this way....384 students are not buckling up, and the trend shows that 70% of the people killed in Missouri were NOT buckled in. So...there's a chance that 269 of these students, if involved in a car crash, would not survive.
Winfield High School
Of the 490 students at Winfield High School, 73% are wearing a seat belt. This means 27% of them are not.
Think about it in this way....132 students are not buckling up, and the trend shows that 70% of the people killed in Missouri were NOT buckled in. So...there's a chance that 92 of these students, if involved in a car crash, would not survive.
Bowling Green High School
Of the 485 students at Bowling Green High School, 49% are wearing a seat belt. This means 51% of them are not.
Think about it in this way....247 students are not buckling up, and the trend shows that 70% of the people killed in Missouri were NOT buckled in. So...there's a chance that 173 of these students, if involved in a car crash, would not survive.
Highland Jr. - Sr. High School
Of the 480 students at Highland Jr.-Sr. High School, 75% are wearing a seat belt. This means 25% of them are not.
Think about it in this way....120 students are not buckling up, and the trend shows that 70% of the people killed in Missouri were NOT buckled in. So...there's a chance that 84 of these students, if involved in a car crash, would not survive.
Montgomery County High School
Of the 450 students at Montgomery Co. High School, 71% are wearing a seat belt. This means 29% of them are not.
Think about it in this way....131 students are not buckling up, and the trend shows that 70% of the people killed in Missouri were NOT buckled in. So...there's a chance that 91 of these students, if involved in a car crash, would not survive.
Clark County High School
Of the 390 students at Clark Co. High School, 44% are wearing a seat belt. This means 56% of them are not.
Think about it in this way....218 students are not buckling up, and the trend shows that 70% of the people killed in Missouri were NOT buckled in. So...there's a chance that 152 of these students, if involved in a car crash, would not survive.
