Rainy weather over the last several weeks has caused ground conditions to be less than ideal for rock hauling;
however, blasting crews have been on site working to get ahead of the rock haulers who have returned to the job. Expect trucks to be really active and be particularly careful when crossing the haul road at the Aspenhoff Drive.
The rain had created an issue with water and material running off Hopewell Hill across the new Aspenhoff entrance. To resolve the issue, we deepened and
re-graded the ditch along the north side of the drive to help catch the runoff allowing it drain to the new pipe under Aspenhoff Drive. This should redirect the water into the sediment basin on the south side of the drive where the material will settle out and help the surface of Aspenhoff Drive, which had seen some sloppy conditions. We have placed additional temporary erosion control on the south side of the entrance to stop any material and runoff from leaving the project area.
Some excess material is being hauled from Hopewell Hill to the Lake Creek Bridge project near Dutzow and to Route N where MoDOT is partnering with Warren County to widen the approach onto MO 47. Due to high water levels in the Missouri River and Lake Creek itself, the Lake Creek bridge replacement project was delayed a week. This
morning, June 23rd, the contractor closed down one lane of traffic at that location to allow for the partial removal of the bridge. Please be careful when passing through the area as motorist get used to the new signals. When
completed, we expect this will be an improvement many will appreciate.
***July 18 at 7:30 a.m.-Weather permitting, road closes for up to 18 days to work on connection of new section of road to existing MO 47.
