GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY

It was a sunny, warm, but windy day when MoDOT, Crossroads Center, Inc., and the City of Moscow Mills officially broke ground for a new interchange at US 61/Route U just south of Moscow Mills. The event occurred on April 8 at 4 p.m., and with construction already in progress, the new interchange is expected to be complete in the Fall of 2010. Those participating in the groundbreaking included Moscow Mills Chamber of Commerce President Casey Hopkins, Jim Mitas of Congressman Todd Akin's office, Beverly Steiniger of Senator Scott Rupp's office, Rep. Ed Schieffer, US Senator Christopher S. "Kit" Bond, Missouri Highways and Transportation Commissioner Grace Nichols, Mr. Dan Schoenfelder with Crossroads Center, Inc., MoDOT District Engineer Paula Gough, Moscow Mills Mayor Mike Clynch, Lincoln County Presiding Commissioner Sean O'Brien, Boonslick Regional Planning Executive Director Steve Etcher, Ms. Sarah Schoenfelder with Crossroads Center, Inc. and MoDOT CFO Roberta Broecker. |
