Fall 2004
- Utility corridor trenching and excavation began in Lewis
County. Discovery made of ancient artifacts like tools,
pottery and earth ovens.
Winter
2004/2005 - Discoveries returned to lab for further
evaluation and research into dates of artifacts. Determination
of where the large excavation would take place in the summer
in Lewis County.
January
2005 - The Avenue
of the Saints projects is moved up, to be completed
by the end of 2008.
Spring
2005 - Archeologists begin target excavation in
Lewis County.
Summer 2005 - Archeologists
begin utility corridor trenching and excavation in Clark
County.
Late Summer
2005 - Lewis County archeology excavation and investigation
on-site concludes.
Late Summer
2005 - Archeologist begin target excavation in
Clark County.
September 2005 -
Construction begins to build a new four-lane highway begins
in Lewis County on the Avenue
of the Saints.
Winter
2005 - Clark County excavations conclude.
Summer
2006 - Construction begins to build a new four-lane
highway begins in Clark County. This is the last section
of the Avenue of Saints
to become four lanes.
