Route 61 - Iron Mountain Trap Rock Co. Job# J3P2146/J3P2146C Construct an interchange between Route U and Mette Road on Route 61; partnership agreement between MoDOT and Crossroad Centers, Inc. The work involves building a new bridge over Route 61 to carry Route U and Mette Road traffic. Ramps will be built to allow traffic off of and on to Route 61.

Shelby County
Construction Projects

Route 36 - Progressive Contractors Job# J3P0409C & 410 - Grading and paving for new dual divided facility, minimal to no impact to traffic.

Location:  From 0.6 mile west of Route 15 at Shelbina east to 0.4 mile west of Ralls County at Monroe City

Work Zone Info: Traffic switch to temporary connection with 45 mph speed limit through the temporary connection. County Roads 467 and 473 at Route 36 closed until further notice. Several of these operations will be reduced speeds in areas with extra truck trafficentering and exiting various locations.

Project Status:  Overall Project 75% complete - Shelby County area – 85% complete - Project is inactive until spring. Crews have suspended work due to frozen subgrade; major activity is shoulder paving as weather and ground conditions allow. County Road 486 is open, however crossover is still closed;County Road 491 remains closed. The westbound on/off ramps at Routes 36/15 at Shelbina remain closed off while the contractor builds and paves a portion of the new highway, rebuilding part of the ramps, and tie it in to the existing highway. Motorists driving west will be directed to take the first Shelbina exit to access Route 15 north and south. Detours clearly signed. Approximately 30 miles of the project remain two lane from just west of Monroe City to Clarence. Marion County area – 90% complete - Project is inactive until spring. Crews have suspended work due to frozen subgrade; major activity is shoulder paving as weather and ground conditions allow. Traffic will be diverted to the eastbound lanes near Monroe City. Speed Limit at various locations in this area are 35 mph and 45 mph where posted.

Route 36 - Bross Construction Job #J2P0482 - Grading, paving and concrete girder bridges for new dual divided facility.

Location:  From east of Route 63 near Macon to west of Route 15 near Shelbina

Work Zone Info:  Route 36 at the Route 151 intersection near Clarence, two-way traffic on Route 36 will utilize the newly constructed pavement under the Route 151 Bridge. The ramps currently used as the bypass will be closed.  Also at this time, the Route 151 Bridge over Route 36 will be opened to traffic.After the switch, traffic on Route 36 needing to access Route 151 must take Business 36 into Clarence and proceed to Route 151, exactly as before the project began.

Project Status:  Project 75% complete - Macon/Shelby County - 73% complete - The contractor plans to open the new lanes between Macon and Clarence today.  The contractor also continues to move forward with construction from Clarence to Shelbina as well.  The concrete mainline paving is complete to Lentner and will likely not resume until spring.  The deck of the Route 36 Bridge over Route FF has been placed and the bridge is nearing completion.  All major grading on this section is complete.

Estimated Completion:  July 2010 open to traffic; September 2010 completion.
