Route 61 - Chester Bross Construction Job# J3P0423B - Work involves grading, paving and bridges for four-lane expressway Avenue of the Saints, minimal to no impact to traffic.
Location: South of Wayland to Lewis County line approximately 9 miles
Work Zone Info: Work off of traveled roadway, two-way traffic
60 mph, no restrictions or lane closures.
* Route 61 closed at the 136 spur intersection near the Running Fox School. Detour directing northbound 61 traffic to continue north to Wayland and use 136 east; southbound traffic coming out of Keokuk and Alexandria will be directed to use 136 west and proceed to Wayland and then go south on Route 27. Detour will remain in place until summer 2008.
Project Status: 79% complete - Weather permitting, Dirt work on ramps 2 and 4, grading and placing base rock on southbound lanes, pouring concrete on mainline.
Active work zone at the interchange near the Running Fox School, access to the ramps will be closed to all traffic and the ramps will remain closed until the project is completed.
Estimated Completion: Summer 2008

Project Status: 10% complete - Continuing to recoat girders and finish repairs north side of bridge. Preparing for bridge closure at the end of May.

Route 19 - Anderson Excavating and Grading Co. Job# J3P0584C - Demolition of the old Missouri River Bridge
Location: Hermann
Work Zone Info: Inactive
Bridge Demolition-Project Status: 52% complete - Contractor will implode Pier 4 on Monday, May 19 at 9 a.m. and start claming for concrete rubble shortly thereafter. Thursday they plan on imploding the lower half of Pier 4 and should start removing all of the concrete rubble thereafter. Contractor will be predrilling on Piers 2, 3 & 4 for removal, also cutting up structural steel from span 4. Crews will continue cutting up material and removing it from the salvage site.
Tentative Implosion Schedule, weather permitting:
May 19 & 22 - Pier 4
May 27 & June 2 - Pier 3
June 5 & 11 - Pier 2
Estimated Completion: Summer 2008

Route 36 - Progressive Contractors Job# J3P0409C & 410 - Grading and paving for new dual divided facility, minimal to no impact to traffic.
Location: From 0.6 mile west of Route 15 at Shelbina east to 0.4 mile west of Ralls County at Monroe City
Work Zone Info: Work off of traveled roadway, two-way traffic 60 mph, no restrictions or lane closures.
**Effective Monday, May 12, begin installing box culverts under the east and westbound lanes of Route 36 just east of Shelbina; traffic reduced to one lane in the work zone with temporary signals controlling traffic on Route 36 with a 12-foot width restriction 24 hours a day until the project is complete in 6 to 8 weeks.
Project Status: 16% complete -
Weather permitting, crews will be grading, working on installing pipe and erosion control at various locations; five box culvert crews will be active when ground conditions permit;
North Fork Salt River Bridge-81% complete-Crews will plan to pour deck by Monday, May 19; bridge crew working 4-10 hour days.
