Wednesday, April 9, MoDOT closed Route 79 to through traffic approximately ¾ mile south of Route TT near Ashburn for emergency inspection of the road due to a large crack in the road. Detour signs are in place to advise motorists of the closure.

Traffic will be detoured over Routes B, 61, V and T.

The timeline for reopening the road is undetermined.  MoDOT is in the process of working on both short and long-term solutions for the area, and when weather and ground conditions permit, will begin working on stabilization of the area.
