HANNIBAL - This morning, Tuesday, June 10 at 7 a.m., Route A closed to traffic for up to 35 working days for bridge rehabilitation at the Grassy Creek Bridge, which is located 1.7 miles south of MO 6 between Marion County Road 150 and Route P in Marion County near the community of Hester.Road closure signs are in place notifying motorists of the work. Alternate routes of travel should be taken over MO 6, US 24/61 and MO 168. Some areas of the roadway will remain open to residential traffic only; all other traffic must take alternate routes during this time. L. F. Krupp Construction, Inc. of Ellisville, MO was the successful bidder on this project at$357,068.75.Replacing the deck on the 60-year-old bridge requires removal of the deck and side barriers all the way down to steel, then cleaning and replacing some of the steel, and pouring concrete for the new deck which will be 22 foot wide compared to the existing 20 foot deck.All roadwork is posted on the traveler information map.
