Project Update
Aug. 31, 2009 - The first pour on unit four is ready. Optional pavement on each end of bridge will be done next, Saline County side first. The contractor is still on track to open the bridge to traffic on Oct 3.
Aug. 10, 2009 - Contractor is setting deck panels on Unit 4, which is the three spans over the river. Ferry service is free as of Aug. 4.
July 31, 2009 - Ribbon cutting ceremony scheduled for Monday, August 10, has been postponed until a later date.
July 27, 2009 - Contractor is hanging the last of the girders this week. All girders should be in place no later than Saturday.
July 7, 2009 - Hanging girders in Span 7. Should finish early this week, then move falsework to Span 8 (navigation channel) and work on hanging girders there over the next couple of weeks.
June 5, 2009 - First deck pour on east end of bridge this morning. Two spans remain over the river that need girders.
Feb. 23, 2009 - Contractor is hanging girders on the west side of the river, and pouring concrete for substructure modifications on the east side of the river.
