Bridge Rehabilitation Projects scheduled on Missouri Route 19 North of Hermann

HANNIBAL – Weather permitting, April 3, two bridge rehabilitation projects are scheduled to begin on Missouri Route 19 in Montgomery County, located over the Missouri River and the Loutre River north of Hermann.

Temporary traffic impacts will occur at the bridge locations between Missouri Route 94, south of McKittrick, and Missouri Route 100 in Hermann. Traffic will be reduced to one lane during the day at the location where crews are actively working for the duration of the project. Flaggers and a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. Workers will be present Monday through Friday during daylight hours. A 12-foot width restriction will be in place for the duration of the project. All work is weather dependent and schedules are subject to change.

The initial phase of rehabilitation on the Missouri River Bridge will include painting of the fencing.  During this time, the public will experience temporary access restrictions to the Katy Trail at this location. Later this Spring, it will be necessary to close access to the Katy Trail at this location while deck sealing operations are active. Additional details for this impact will be released as scheduling information becomes available.

For the safety of the crews and the traveling public, we would like to remind drivers to be attentive in work zones and make smart, safe driving choices behind the wheel, including putting down your cell phone to eliminate distractions.

Thomas Industrial Coatings, Inc. was awarded the contract earlier this year in the amount of $1,694,448. The project is scheduled to be completed by mid-summer.
