Chariton County Route TT to close

Turkey Creek Bridge deck replacement project

ST. JOSEPH, Mo – Chariton County Route TT is scheduled to close soon. The Turkey Creek Bridge was built in 1961 and carries approximately 45 vehicles per day. The bridge deck is in poor condition and in need of replacement. The Missouri Department of Transportation contracted with Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. to complete a bridge deck replacement project at the bridge over Turkey Creek, approximately 1 mile east of Route 139.

The contractor plans to close the route at the bridge to all traffic on Monday, Sept. 19, 2022. The bridge is expected to reopen by the end of November. During the closure, traffic will need to use an alternate route.

All work is weather dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
