Stadium Boulevard Resurfacing Continues near Columbia Mall

COLUMBIA – The Missouri Department of Transportation’s project to improve the driving surface of Missouri Route 740 (Stadium Boulevard) in Columbia moves into a new phase this week.

A contractor will begin milling and resurfacing Stadium Boulevard, between Blackfoot Road and Broadway Street. This is the final section of road to be milled down ahead of the installation of the new driving surface. Crews will remove portions of the current driving surface and repave those sections each night.

This work will require lane closures in the area from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. Some delays are possible.

The contractor will also continue to make roadway repairs along the milled portion of Stadium Boulevard between U.S. Route 63 to Broadway Street. These repairs are necessary ahead of the new driving surface to get the most years of service out of the new pavement. The resurfacing of this section will begin in early August.

MoDOT appreciates the continued patience of travelers during this project. Drivers are encouraged to stay focused, obey all traffic signs, and give crews room to work.

Work is weather permitting and could be delayed. For more information about this project, visit modot.org/stadiumresurfacing. For other transportation-related matters, please call 1-888-ASK-MoDOT (275-6636) or visit www.modot.org/central.
