Installation of New Driving Surface Continues on Stadium Boulevard

COLUMBIA – Work continues to improve the driving surface along Missouri Route 740 (Stadium Boulevard) in Columbia, as crews have begun work in the next phase of the project.

A contractor working for the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has started the process of milling pavement between U.S. Route 63 to Route 163 (Providence Road). The same milling process has already begun between Broadway Street and Providence Road.

Motorists are advised that the driving surface will be rough during the initial process, before the new asphalt is applied. Installation of a new driving surface along both sections could begin as soon as the week of June 28.

The final phase of the project will include milling and adding a new driving surface to Stadium Boulevard between Interstate 70 and Broadway. That phase is scheduled to begin later this summer.

Work is taking place between the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Nighttime and overnight delays are possible in or near work zones. MoDOT appreciates the patience of travelers during this project and encourages drivers to stay focused on the road, obey all traffic signs and give crews plenty of room to work.
