MoDOT Releases Details Regarding 2022 Westbound Interstate 70 Bridge Rehabilitations Project

Public Invited to Comment Online thru April 9

BOONE/CALLAWAY COUNTY - Information is now available regarding the rehabilitations of two westbound Interstate 70 bridges located between Columbia and Kingdom City and the Missouri Department of Transportation is inviting nearby residents and travelers to share their thoughts.

The 50-year-old bridges over Little Cedar Creek in Callaway County and Cedar Creek in Boone County have both reached the point where rehabilitation is necessary to extend the life and usability of the bridges by 15 years.

All I-70 lanes will be open to traffic during daytime hours. Westbound I-70 will have overnight single-lane closures during construction on both bridges. MoDOT says specific lane closure information will be announced through signs, media releases and social media when a timeline for the project has been established.

This project is expected to begin and be completed in 2022.

Motorists and area residents can ask questions or provide feedback on this project using the digital comment form at modot.org/Westbound70BridgeRehabs. The online public comment period is open through April 9.
