Public Input Sought for Future Safety Improvements on Route 160/13

South of Springfield at Feb. 8 Public Meeting

Springfield, Greene County – Area residents are encouraged to provide ideas for improving safety along a short section of Route 160/13 south of Springfield near the James River at a public meeting on Thursday, Feb. 8, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

MoDOT is developing a future road project between a point south of Plainview Road (Farm Road 182) and Steinert Road (Farm Road 192) just north of the James River.

The public meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8, at The Library Center, 4653 S. Campbell Avenue in Springfield. The meeting will be come-and-go with NO FORMAL PRESENTATION planned.

Anyone unable to attend the in-person meeting can view the same exhibits and give their suggestions at an online public meeting at www.modot.org/southwest

Once all comments are compiled, the information will be used by an engineering consulting firm hired by MoDOT to develop options for upgrading this section of Route 160/13.

A second public meeting will be held later this year to show options and gather feedback as work progresses on developing a plan for the roadway.

The project is set for construction in spring/summer 2019.
