Route 160/13 Intersection Safety Improvements

South of Springfield Focus of July 24 Public Meeting

Springfield, Greene County – Area residents are encouraged to view proposed safety improvements at intersections along a short section of Route 160/13 south of Springfield near the James River at a public meeting on Tuesday, July 24, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

The public meeting is scheduled for 4:30-6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, at The Library Center, 4653 S. Campbell Avenue in Springfield. The meeting will be come-and-go with NO FORMAL PRESENTATION planned. Those who attend can come any time between 4:30 and 6 p.m.

Anyone unable to attend the in-person meeting can view the same exhibits and give their suggestions at an online public meeting at www.modot.org/southwest.

MoDOT, working with an engineering firm, held a public meeting in February to gather information from area residents and drivers about the intersections between a point south of Plainview Road (Farm Road 182) and Steinert Road (Farm Road 192) just north of the James River.

The engineering firm has developed options for improving the intersections including Farm Road 157. Those who attend the public meeting, in-person or online, will be able to view the proposed upgrades and talk with engineers about the preferred options.

The project is set for construction in spring/summer 2019.
