Route 5/Lebanon Signals to Operate
Overnight Starting Monday, April 18
MoDOT, District 8, Springfield --
Beginning at 11 p.m. Monday, April 18, the traffic signals along
Route 5 in Lebanon will be placed in full operation during nighttime
hours.
Currently, the signals are placed
on flash between 11 p.m. and 6:30 a.m.
Having the signals cycle green-yellow-red
overnight will enable drivers more safely to enter or cross Route
5 (Jefferson Avenue), which has become busier and busier over
the years, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Overnight, the signals will change
based on traffic demand. The light will remain on green for Route
5 traffic until a vehicle approaches on a side street. Then the
signal on Route 5 at that intersection will cycle to yellow and
red to give a short green light to the side street.
During the rest of the day, the signals
will continue in full, synchronized operation along Route 5.
