MoDOT Central District Names New Assistant District Engineer

JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Department of Transportation has named Eric Schroeter as assistant district engineer for their Central District Office in Jefferson City.  He succeeds Gary Thomas who retired after a 39-year career with MoDOT.

In this position, Schroeter will be responsible for directing and coordinating MoDOT’s engineering and operational activities for the mid-Missouri area.

“We are very pleased to have Eric serve in this important position,” said Roger Schwartze, Central District Engineer.  “He has a very thorough knowledge of highway maintenance and construction operations in mid-Missouri and will certainly be an asset to the communities served by our office.”

Schroeter is originally from the St. Louis area and has lived in central Missouri for nearly 20 years.  Schroeter joined MoDOT in 1992 after graduating from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering.  Prior to his selection, he was an operations engineer at the Central District Office in Jefferson City.  Schroeter, a registered professional engineer, has also worked in MoDOT’s construction office in Sedalia.

Schroeter and his wife, Anita, have two children and reside in California, Mo.
