Weekly Road Work for Mid-Missouri
Sep. 6-9, 2005
JEFFERSON CITY - The
following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction
work in the mid-Missouri area for the week of Sep. 6-9. Weather
conditions may cause postponements in the work schedule. Other
construction or maintenance work may occur on other roadways throughout
the area. Many projects will include lane closures and delays
can be expected. MoDOT reminds the public to slow down, follow
posted signing and drive safely through work areas.
Motorists should also be aware that mowing continues on various
routes throughout the central Missouri area. For more information

Boone/Callaway Counties
Overnight/Daylight Hours
Route 63 from Ashland to Columbia – The contractor will
be paving in various locations on the northbound lanes paving
the roadway. Motorists are advised that one lane will be open
to traffic during the week of Sep. 6.
Overnight Hours
I-70 from Route 63 in Columbia to just west of Route J –
The contractor will begin a resurfacing project on eastbound I-70
during the week of Sep. 6. One lane will be open to traffic. This
project is scheduled for completion in late fall.
Boone County
24 Hour
I-70 from Route E to one-half mile past Route BB – Guard
cable installation will be underway on Wednesday, Sep. 7 through
Friday, Sep. 9. One lane will be open to traffic at all times.
Daylight Hours
I-70 from Route B to West Boulevard Overpass – Bridge repair
will be performed from Tuesday, Sep. 6 through Thursday, Sep.
8. One lane will be open to traffic.
Callaway County
Overnight/Daylight Hours
I-70 between Boone County and the Route A and Route Z interchange
– Installation of rumble strips and striping continues on
the eastbound lanes of I-70 between the project limits. One lane
will be open to traffic on eastbound I-70.
Daylight Hours
Route 94 at the Big Tavern Creek Bridge – Traffic continues
to use the temporary bypasses that are in place on each end of
the bridge located 12 miles east of Mokane. These bypasses will
be in place until mid-September. The contractor continues to construct
the new roadway and bridge at this location.
Cole County
Overnight Hours
Route 50 between Dix Road and Eastland Drive – Resurfacing
will continue on Tuesday, Sep. 6. One lane of both east and westbound
Route 50 will be open to traffic each night.
Missouri Blvd. (Bus. Route 50) –
Missouri Blvd. resurfacing will begin once the project to resurface
Route 50 between Dix Road and Eastland Drive is completed later
this month.
Daylight Hours
Route 54 between Route 50 and the Moreau River Bridge, south of
Jefferson City – Pavement repairs will be made in the east
and westbound lanes during the week of Sep. 6 from 7:30 a.m. to
4:00 p.m. One lane will be open in both directions.
Cooper County
Overnight Hours
I-70 in Cooper County – Crews continue to install guard
cable in the median between the east and westbound lanes. One
lane will be open in each direction each night.
I-70 between the Saline/Cooper
County line to Route 87 – The contractor will be resurfacing
eastbound I-70 on Tuesday morning, Sep. 6, through Friday, Sep.
9, during overnight hours. One lane of eastbound I-70 will be
open to traffic.
Daylight Hours
I-70 from Route 87 to Route K – Crews will be working in
the median. One lane will be open in each direction.
Route 135 between Route E and Route
BB – Maintenance work will take place beginning Tuesday,
Sep. 6 through Friday, Sep. 9. One lane of Route 135 will be open
to traffic.
Route 87 between I-70 and Route 98
– Concrete repair will be performed starting Tuesday, Sep.
6 and will continue through Friday, Sep. 9. One lane will be open
to traffic.
Route F on Stephens
Creek Bridge – Bridge repair will be performed during the
week of Sep. 6 between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. One
lane of roadway will be open to traffic at this location.
Gasconade County
Route A, Rock and Clear Creek Bridges north of Route 28 –
The bridges are open to traffic. Final work will continue in early
September.
Miller County
Daylight Hours
Route 54 from Business 54/Route W to 1 mile east of Route 87 –
The contractor is installing centerline pavement markings. One
lane will be open to traffic in each direction. Weather permitting,
project should be completed by Tuesday, Sep. 6.
Route 52 between Route 17 and Route
E in St. Elizabeth – Crews will apply a surface treatment
to Route 52 on Tuesday, Sep. 6, through Thursday, Sep. 8. One
lane of Route 52 will be open to traffic.
Moniteau County
Daylight Hours
Crews will apply a surface treatment to various routes beginning
Tuesday, Sep. 6 and continue through Friday, Sep. 9. One lane
of each route will be open to traffic each day.

- Route 87 from Route 50 to Route C
- Route O between Route C and Route D
Pettis County
Daylight Hours
Crews will apply a surface treatment to various routes beginning
Tuesday, Sep. 6. One lane of each route will be open to traffic
each day.

Route W/DD to the Pettis/Morgan County line
- Route KK from the intersection of Route M/KK to the Pettis/Morgan
County line
- Route A from the intersection of Route M/A and the Pettis/Benton
County line
Route U at the Flat
Creek Bridge – Crews will be continue bridge repair during
the week of Sept 6. One lane of Route U at the bridge, located
two miles south of the Sedalia city limits, will be open to traffic
each day.
Route 50 from Route FF to Allen Road
– Maintenance crews will be doing pavement repair on Route
50 starting on Tuesday, Sep. 6 through Friday, Sep. 9. One lane
will be open to traffic during this work.
Route 65 from Kemp Road to Houston
Road – Maintenance work will be performed on Route 65 starting
Tuesday, Sep. 6 through Friday, Sep. 9. One lane of Route 65 will
be open to traffic.
