Hollister/U.S. 65 Interchange Construction
Update for Week of May 16


Traffic Alert: Mall Road closed between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. Monday night.

Work scheduled: Rock and dirt grading for new U.S. 65 northbound lanes between Route 165 and Mall Road (some work at night).
Rock hauling across U.S. 65 at night early in the week.
Rock blasting at various locations.
Construction of new Business 65 overpass.
Box culvert installation across Industrial Boulevard.
Installing storm drain system along Route V near College of the Ozarks.
Highway lighting and traffic signal wiring installed near U.S. 65 and Business 65.

Impact on Traffic: Mall Road closed between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. Monday night to allow crews to grade dirt and rock for the new northbound lanes.
Traffic will be stopped on U.S. 65 near Route 165 between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Monday through Wednesday nights to allow dump trucks to cross the road.
One-lane traffic on Industrial Boulevard.
Traffic stopped for short periods during blasting operations.
All other work planned should take place AWAY from traffic.

Work zone speed limit on U.S. 65: 45 mph.

Project background: Construction of U.S. 65/Business 65 interchange and overpass for Business 65 north of new interchange and widening of U.S. 65 to four lanes along 1.6 miles (2,000 feet north of Bus. 65/Route V to just south of Route 165.)
Cost: $19.2 million (low bid), shared by MoDOT, City of Hollister and Taney County.
Prime contractor: W.A. Ellis Construction of Independence.
Scheduled completion: Fall 2006.

Rain will postpone the scheduled work.
