MoDOT To Offer Sound Bite Service

JEFFERSON CITY - Beginning today, the Missouri Department of Transportation is offering recorded comments from department officials via a toll-free telephone number.   The number is 866-847-7173.

For example, reporters can call the number today to get comments from MoDOT Director Pete Rahn on the proposal calling for a state gas tax holiday.

The line, which will be updated as transportation news events occur, is designed to give reporters more immediate access to sound bites from department officials on transportation-related news stories.
