Round-the-Clock Resurfacing
Work
Planned for Week of October 17
MoDOT, District 8, Springfield --
The round-the-clock work to grind off the old pavement and resurface
U.S. 60/Route 413 in Republic is scheduled to continue starting
Sunday night, October 17, the Missouri Department of Transportation
said.
Rain the week of October 10 slowed
the project.
The pavement grinding operation will
run between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. Sunday through Friday this week.
The paving operation will follow
each day between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Two paving crews will be running
-- one to resurface the highway and other other to pave driveway
and street approaches.
The crew working on the highway will
begin at Route 174 and proceed west to West Avenue. Then the operation
will turn around and go from West Avenue to Route 174.
Two-way traffic will be maintained,
but it will be necessary to shift traffic away from where crews
are set up.
Rain will cause delays in the project.
Other work planned will take place
AWAY from traffic. Sidewalks will be built and street lighting
installed.
Week of October 24
Asphalt will be laid along U.S. 60/Route 413 during the day.
No night work is planned -- unless
weather or other factors delay the paving operation during the
week of October 17.
Drivers can expect bumps to remain
at some city street approaches that have been rebuilt until they
can be repaved.
