Pavement Repairs Will Block
Through Traffic
On Grant Ave. At Chestnut Exp. Starting Oct. 10
MoDOT, District 8, Springfield --
Grant Avenue will be closed to through traffic at Chestnut Expressway
in Springfield starting Sunday, October 10, and lasting up to
two weeks, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
* Southbound Grant Avenue will be
closed completely around the clock at Chestnut Expressway. Drivers
will have to use other city streets to reach Chestnut Expressway.
* Northbound Grant Avenue will be
open for right turns only onto eastbound Chestnut Expressway.
* The westbound Chestnut Expressway
left-turn lane to southbound Grant Avenue will be closed.
A section of pavement must be replaced
on westbound Chestnut Expressway (Loop 44).
Two lanes of eastbound Chestnut Expressway
will remain open. One westbound lane of Chestnut Expressway will
be closed during the work.
The project will be done during daylight
hours. Crews will work between 6 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Sunday through
Friday.
Signs will be set in
place to alert drivers to the street closing and repair work ahead.
