JEFFERSON CITY - Several construction contractors were recently recognized as part of the Missouri Department of Transportation's annual contractor performance awards.

Fred Weber, Inc., of Maryland Heights, Mo., earned both the Value Engineering award and the Green Credit award for its efforts to improve project performance and reduce cost, and by using environmentally-friendly practices on job sites.

Fifteen other companies were recognized for attention to project quality, timeliness and adherence to contract goals. These included:
