FLOOD UPDATE 7:30 a.m.:

JEFFERSON CITY – The westbound lanes of Interstate 70 in St Charles County near Route 79 in St Peters have reopened.  The eastbound lanes of I-70 remain closed due to the flooding of Dardenne Creek.

Motorists who need to use eastbound I-70 in St Charles County can exit at Interstate 64 eastbound to Route 364 eastbound. Route 364 connects to Interstate 270 in St. Louis County and from there motorists can reconnect to Interstate 70.  Eastbound I-70 is completely closed from Bryan Road (mile marker 216) to Mid Rivers Mall Drive (mile marker 222) due to this flooding.

In addition, Interstate 49 reopened Sunday night in Carthage, Missouri. There are more than 180 roads closed across the state due to flooding.

Motorists who travel today are advised to have their headlights on, watch for ponding water on highways and slow down.  If a road is closed due to flooding, do not drive through. Turn around and don’t drown. Check road conditions before you go at MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map at http://traveler.modot.org/map/. The Traveler Information Map is also available as free app for Android and Iphones.
