July 7, 2015 - For immediate release

JACKSON COUNTY -The Missouri Department of Transportation begins a two-month bridge rehabilitation project on Interstate 70 over the Sni-A-Bar Creek east of Grain Valley starting Wednesday, July 8. Crews will reduce eastbound I-70 to one lane over the bridge located at mile marker 25. The westbound lanes will also be reduced to one lane beginning Monday, July 13.

Motorists traveling I-70 should expect heavy congestion and travel delays through the area especially during peak commute times and also on Friday and Sunday afternoons. Please allow extra time for travel, consider avoiding peak times or find an alternate route. Motorists on I-70 should also note this work zone is located approximately 50 miles west of another bridge replacement work zone with I-70 reduced to one lane in each direction in Saline County.
