February 1, 2015 -- For immediate release

ST JOSEPH - MoDOT is currently experiencing blowing and drifting snow in the northern one third of the state on east-west roads including US Route 136.  MoDOT is also experiencing some white-out conditions on east-west roads in the far northwest corner of the state in Atchison, Harrison, Holt, Nodaway and Worth counties. Motorists in this area should not travel if they can avoid it.  Vehicles with a high profile should be advised of the strong wind conditions. The blowing snow is expected to continue throughout the night and should subside Monday morning.

During winter weather, motorists are advised to limit travel if possible. If motorists need to be out on the roads, please reduce speed and drive for conditions.  Check road conditions before you go at MoDOT's Traveler Information Map at http://www.modot.org/.
