Nightly Lane Closure Scheduled for I-49 at Route 2 Commercial St. Bridge Until Aug. 10

CASS COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will reduce north and southbound Interstate 49 to one lane NIGHTLY from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following mornings beginning on Monday, Aug. 6, until approximately Friday, Aug. 10. Motorists will be diverted up and over the ramps at the Route 2 Commercial Street bridge, and motorists on Route 2 will not be able to access I-49 directly. This lane closure is for bridge work. Motorists are encouraged to follow the signed detours (below) or use an alternate route. All work is weather permitting.

  • To access Route 2 north, take Mechanic Street back to Commercial Street.
  • To access Route 2 south, take Mechanic Street to E.  255th Street (also known as Clearwater Drive), and then turn left onto Anaconda Road. This road will turn and become S Brickplant Road. Turn left onto Brookhart Dr.

Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
