Portion of I-470 Will Be Reduced to ONE LANE in Both Directions Beginning May 18

LEE’S SUMMIT – The Missouri Department of Transportation will reduce eastbound and westbound Interstate 470 to ONE LANE between Raytown Road and Pryor Road beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 18, until approximately 5 a.m. on Monday, May 21. This lane reduction is for traffic crossover work in preparation for returning this portion of I-470 back to its original three lane configuration. This stretch of I-470 will remain reduced to two lanes until approximately Thursday, May 24. There will be nightly lane reductions to one lane in both directions beginning Monday, May 21 through Wednesday, May 23 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. each evening.

This work is all a part of the extensive I-470 bridge rehabilitation project that will repair 15 bridges along the I-470 corridor. Please be patient and considerate to your fellow motorists. Use the zipper merge and take turns at the merge point.  All work is weather permitting.

Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
