Oak Grove Residents, Motorists Will See Traffic Flow Changes on Route F/H Beginning Friday

OAK GROVE – The Missouri Department of Transportation has begun work on the diverging diamond project in Oak Grove at I-70 and Route F/H. Motorists and residents will see some traffic changes beginning Friday, April 20 as crews begin working on the bridge decks.

  • On Friday, April 20, beginning at 7 am, crews will CLOSE the left turn lane from southbound Route F to eastbound I-70 until December.
  • On Monday, April 23, beginning at 7 a.m., crews will CLOSE the left lane of northbound and southbound Route F.
  • On Thursday, April 26, traffic will shift into a temporary Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) pattern while crews begin bridge work. Learn more about the DDI here: www.modot.org/InterchangesandIntersections.htm

MoDOT will maintain at least one lane of traffic in both directions through peak travel times, but travelers can expect this intersection to be under construction for the remainder of the year.

Converting the traditional diamond interchange to a diverging diamond interchange will increase left-turn capacity, improve traffic operation and reduce the number of crashes on Route F. In addition to the improvements to the bridge and traffic, the ramps onto I-70 will be lengthened to allow improved merging onto the interstate. Learn more about the project here: http://bit.ly/2rBoFNc
