MoDOT Will Have Intermittent Lane Closures along I-435 this Afternoon, Into the Weekend

KANSAS CITY – The Missouri Department of Transportation has begun work on a project along the I-435 corridor from Grandview to State Line. Motorists traveling from the State Line to the Three Trails Crossing can expect to see some additional lane closures beginning today through the weekend.

  • A lane of westbound I-435 from Holmes Road to State Line Road will CLOSE at 2 p.m. and remain closed for paving through 10 p.m.
  • Crews will also CLOSE two lanes OVERNIGHT on eastbound I-435 from State Line to Blue River from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. both Thursday and Friday night.
  • The entrance lane from Holmes Road onto westbound I-435 will also have a lane closure that began at 10 a.m. this morning and will last until 8 p.m. This will also impact the exit lane for Wornall Road.

This work is part of the I-435 South Loop Link project that will replace the bridges at Wornall and Holmes, rehabilitate the bridges at 104th Street and the Blue River, and upgrade the pavement on I-435 which includes adding another lane.
