NIGHTLY CLOSURES of Northbound Route 291 at Colbern Road Beginning Oct. 3 at 8 p.m.

LEE'S SUMMIT – The Missouri Department of Transportation finished its work along southbound Route 291 at Colbern Road quicker than anticipated. Therefore, crews will be conducting NIGHTLY CLOSURES of northbound Route 291  at Colbern Road beginning on Tuesday, Oct. 3 at 8 p.m. Motorists MUST exit Route 291 at Colbern Road and find an alternate route. All work is weather permitting.

  • COMPLETED: Southbound Route 291 will be closed at Colbern Road on both Monday, Oct. 2, and Tuesday, Oct. 3, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following mornings.
  • RESCHEDULED: Northbound Route 291 will be closed at Colbern Road on both Tuesday, Oct. 3, and Wednesday, Oct. 4, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following mornings.
    • This work was originally scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 4, and Thursday, Oct. 5.
  • Beginning at 5 a.m. on each morning of the closures, the routes will open up to just single lane closures until crews complete the work.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
