Work will cause lane/ramp closures along I-29 and traffic pattern change

PLATTE COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will close various lanes of southbound I-29 from 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13 to 5 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 14 for pavement grinding and/or striping work. Crews will close two right lanes of southbound I-29 between 64th St. and 56th St for pavement grinding. Crews will close one right lane of southbound I-29 from Waukomis Dr. to Vivion Rd. for striping work. In addition, crews will close the ramp from southbound 169 to southbound I-29 for striping work. All work is weather dependent.

Note: Motorists using the southbound 169 ramp to southbound I-29 will now have to merge onto southbound I-29 as the ramp will end before Vivion Rd. This is a permanent change that will remain in place, beginning Thursday, Sept. 14.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
