Work rescheduled for the I-435 and Route 210 Project

CLAY COUNTY – Due to recent inclement weather, scheduled work has been pushed back regarding the I-435 and Route 210 Interchange Improvement Project. Crews for the Missouri Department of Transportation originally planned to close the right lane of southbound I-435 over Route 210 and the left lane of northbound I-435 over Route 210 from 8 p.m. Thursday, May 18 to 6 a.m. Friday, May 19. That work has now been re-scheduled. Crews will close the right lane of southbound I-435 over Route 210 from 8 p.m. Saturday, May 20 to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 21 for shoulder/asphalt/striping work. After the striping work is completed, crews will shift southbound traffic to the shoulder in which the lanes will be narrow.

Crews will also close the left lane of northbound I-435 over Route 210 from 8 p.m. Saturday, May 20 to 7 a.m. Sunday, May 21. This closure is also for shoulder/asphalt work.

All work is weather dependent.

This project is all part of building a new diverging diamond interchange for I-435 and Route 210, which includes replacing the twin bridges on I-435 over Route 210 and widening I-435.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
