Revised Schedule: Work will cause lane/ramp reductions along I-29

CLAY COUNTY – Due to recent weather conditions, crews for the Missouri Department of Transportation have rescheduled upcoming work along I-29. Crews will reduce southbound I-29 to one lane between I-635 and Vivion Rd. and the on-ramp to northbound 169 from 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 26 through 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 2 for new pavement construction work. This will be a 24/7 lane reduction.

In addition, the ramp from southbound I-29 to northbound Route 169 will be closed, as well as the ramp from Waukomis Drive (Route AA) to southbound I-29 from 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 26 through 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 2. All work is weather dependent.

Substantial delays are expected during morning and evening rush hours while the construction work is underway. Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes during peak hours. Work was originally scheduled to begin Wednesday, April 19 and continue through Tuesday, April 25.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
