CLAY COUNTY – Beginning March 13 through March 31, crews will close Great Midwest Drive from Route 210 to NE 38th Street as part of the Route 210 Interchange Project. Local traffic is encouraged to use alternate routes or the signed detour. This closure is in addition to intermittent daily lane closures as part of the project. All work is weather permitting. The purpose of this project is to enhance capacity and safety of the existing interchange to accommodate the current and future needs of citizens, visitors and businesses within the area. Crews will be constructing a signaled intersection at Great Midwest Drive and Route 210. Learn more about this project on our website at www.modot.org/kansascity.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
