KANSAS CITY, Mo. - All Interstate 29/35 ramps and lanes will open tomorrow, Dec. 18, 2010. This marks the completion of major construction activity for MoDOT's Interstate 29/35 Connections "kcICON" Project, delivered on budget and six months ahead of schedule.
The ramp from southbound I-29/35 to Front Street will open tomorrow, marking the 18th and final ramp to be reconstructed on the project. This ramp is part of the new single point urban interchange (SPUI) at Interstate 29/35 and Front Street.
"At the dedication of the new Christopher S. Bond Bridge in late-September MoDOT, Paseo Corridor Constructors and the Federal Highway Administration made a shoulder-to-shoulder promise to Kansas Citians that we'd complete all major construction on this project before the end of the year," said kcICON Project Brian Kidwell. "Today, we can announce that we're going to keep that promise. Merry Christmas and safe travels Kansas City!"Updated project information can be found at www.kcicon.com or by calling the information hotline at 816-841-8888.
